Features of the Application
- Launched on 11th April 2015, Jio Chat is known as one of the most easy to use messaging apps in India.
- Unlike many other messaging channels, this application allows the users to message offline. You can type the message, which then gets stored and is delivered as and when the recipient is connected to the internet.
- The application, Jio Chat comes with a feature of group chat, where you can chat with several people at the same time and in the same chat profile box. Well, yes, many (almost all) messaging applications allow group chat. However, with Jio Chat the user gets the range of members up to 500. Whereas, in applications like WhatsApp the limit is till 256 and Facebook allows one to add only 250 members in a single group.
- With JioChat, you can share files of any format with other users easily.
- This messaging application also lets the users make voice calls for free of cost and for any duration of time.
- Along with the voice calling, the application also allows you to video call people for free and with no limit on the time duration of the call.
- One of the unique features which JioSell finds for the application is that it allows the users to follow their selected brands to get updates and/or promotional offers for the same.
What we like about the Jio Chat Application
- The application is best known for its easy and smooth interface to text and call people worldwide.
- The calling service both, voice and video, in the application comes with superlative High Definition Quality with no additional costs for the same.
- Another benefit of using Jio Chat messaging services is that it allows its users to communicate in their regional languages. You can personalize the messages in the language you prefer.
- This application, Jio Chat, allows users not only to view stories from their contacts and friends. But also to stay updated through video stories by influencers and content creators.
- Similar to many messaging applications, Jio Chat also allows video conference calling. Having said that, it takes it up to the next level as it lets the user create their own conference rooms.
- As the company focuses to give its Indian users the best and diverse services, which are associated with the Indian culture, the application offers more than 1000 stickers in a diverse range of languages, representing secularism. Also, you can draw and doodle on the images for better effects. These are the best features which Jiosell finds better than other chatting app.
What we do not like about the Jio Chat
- Under its video calling services, the application does not offer the picture in picture mode to the users, which creates a bit of inconvenience.
- To send an emoji or GIF, users typically prefer to search the same using some keywords. However, Jio Chat does not provide that option of search.
- Many users complain, and according to our tests on the application, Jio Chat creates a hazard in voice and video calling as the voice is not shared effectively.
- Since the update, the application is not compatible with many cell phones.
- The loading time of stickers and images is significantly higher than the other similar messaging applications.
- The application, Jio Chat, focuses on its Indian targeted customers. However, users from other countries do not feel as inclusive due to the design provided by this application.
- While video calling, moving an icon of the other person’s video is extremely important. Again, another feature missing in the Jio Chat application that has disappointed its users.
